Everton 3-1 Coventry: Barry stars with two goals and assist

Everton came from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday night, moving up to fifth in the Premier League table. Thierno Barry scored twice and set up a third to turn the game around after the Blues had fallen behind early in the second half.

Match Recap

Coventry took the lead shortly after the break through Yann Gboho's close-range effort. David Moyes' side responded with a strong performance from Barry, who equalised with a header before scoring his second moments later for his 10th goal of the season.

Barry then provided a well-weighted through-ball to set up Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for Everton's third goal. The win makes it three consecutive victories for the Blues.

Player Ratings

Jordan Pickford was rated 7, dealing well with one cross under pressure and saving from Sakamoto and Torp despite a couple of poor kicks early on. Merlin Rohl, switched to right-back, also earned a 7 for his forward runs and a good through-ball to Armstrong.

James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite both received 6, with Tarkowski making one big block to deny Dasilva and Branthwaite struggling after the break before being booked and subbed. Vitalii Mykolenko was rated 8 after providing a pinpoint cross for Barry's equaliser.

Harrison Armstrong (6) missed a close-range chance, while James Garner (7) created several chances early. Tyler Dibling (5) was not as involved, and Dewsbury-Hall (8) scored the clinching goal. Tyrique George (7) played a great through-ball for Barry and helped create his second.

Substitutes

Jake O'Brien (6) was sent on to solidify the defence, Brennan Johnson (7) got forward well, and Hayden Hackney (7) was lively in midfield. Michael Keane and Carlos Alcaraz came on late with no rating as Everton saw out the win.
