England took a major step towards the UEFA Nations League knockout phase with a thumping 6-0 victory away to Croatia, with Anthony Gordon earning the highest praise in Express Sport's player ratings.
Thomas Tuchel's side produced one of the best 45-minute displays of his tenure, racing to a 4-0 lead before the break. Harry Kane opened the scoring with a stylish finish, Jude Bellingham turned home to make it two midway through the half, Bukayo Saka tapped into an empty net after poor Croatian defending, and Gordon netted his second header in as many matches.
Second-half dominance
After the restart, England needed little time to add a fifth, with Elliot Anderson picking out Kane with a stunning cross. The Bayern Munich man turned provider with his final action, squaring to Saka, who had another open net to score into. Morgan Rogers capped off the dreamy away trip, confirming the biggest-ever defeat for Croatia.
Here, Express Sport hands out player ratings from the win in Rijeka:
Player ratings
Jordan Pickford - 6
The stadium wasn't too far away from the beach and the England goalkeeper might as well have brought a deck chair, given how little he had to do.
Jarell Quansah - 7
Did his best Trent Alexander-Arnold tribute with a stunning cross for Gordon's first-half header. Wasn't tested at all defensively but looked solid nonetheless.
Marc Guehi - 6
Has recovered well since his mistake vs Spain last weekend, and continues to build a strong partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of defence.
Ezri Konsa - 6
A characteristically comfortable performance for the Arsenal defender, who has established himself as a first-choice starter for England.
Lewis Hall - 7
Considering he didn't get into the World Cup squad, the Newcastle ace has caught the eye during the recent international break. A constant threat on the left flank, he was sharp when called upon defensively.
Elliot Anderson - 8
Was picking up loose balls all over the pitch and put in a sumptuous cross for Kane's second. Marked down as the Manchester City ace was caught in possession for a chance that ought to have led to a Croatia goal.
Alex Scott - 8
The Bournemouth man showcased exactly why he is in the squad and starting matches with a stellar showing alongside former under-21s team-mate Elliot Anderson.
Front line stars
Jude Bellingham - 9
Has well and truly put the debate as to who should be the starting No.10. When the ex-Birmingham ace is on it, he's a joy to watch. Took his goal wonderfully and was creating chances all night.
Bukayo Saka - 9
Caused mayhem all night for the Croatian fullbacks. Was gifted far too much time and space for both goals, but he still had to put the ball in the net.
Harry Kane - 9
A vintage performance from the skipper. Clinical with his goals and selfless for the Saka assist. Taken off when the game was well and truly won to keep his legs fresh.
Anthony Gordon - 9
The left-winger has taken his game to a new level since joining Barcelona from Newcastle in the summer. Comfortably the best player on the pitch and the final piece in the puzzle for England's front line.
Substitutes
Morgan Rogers - 7
There are worse players to bring on for Kane and he kept the attacking threat high. Took his goal brilliantly well.
James Garner - 6
Plenty of energy in the middle of the park for his late cameo.
Eberechi Eze - 6
Some nice short passes but nothing much to note.
Morgan Gibbs-White - 6
Probably upset not to have come on earlier.
Myles Lewis-Skelly - 6
Solid at left-back.
