Ed Sheeran to Perform Virtual Gig at Ipswich Town Ground for Euro 2020

Ed Sheeran has announced he will perform a virtual concert from Ipswich Town's Portman Road stadium as part of the Euro 2020 celebrations. The gig, scheduled for 25 June, will be streamed on his TikTok channel.

The Suffolk-born singer, a lifelong Ipswich Town fan and shirt sponsor, revealed the news in a video featuring David Beckham. Sheeran said: 'Can't wait to be live from Portman Road. It's a place I love.' He added that he will perform fan favourites and his new single for the first time.

The concert will be free to view from 21:00 BST and will have no live audience. TikTok is an official sponsor of the football tournament. Paul Hourican, head of music operations UK at TikTok, said: 'We are honoured to play host to Ed Sheeran for this very special gig.'

Sheeran recently signed a one-year deal to sponsor Ipswich Town's men's and women's first-team shirts. The logo appeared on the club's new home kit for 2021/22, unveiled on Thursday.

The singer has a strong connection to the area. His Divide tour concluded with four nights at Ipswich's Chantry Park in 2019, and he made a significant donation to Ipswich Hospital's children's ward last year.
