Arsenal players Noni Madueke and Declan Rice have taken aim at critics of the club's Premier League title win, dismissing them as 'jealous' as celebrations continued in north London on Sunday.
The Gunners secured their first league crown in 22 years, finishing seven points clear of Manchester City. However, the season ended on a sour note with a Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Despite the setback, an estimated 750,000 to one million fans lined the streets for the title parade. Madueke posted an Instagram picture with Rice captioned: 'Champions! Whilst others are tweeting and posting. Thank you God. The glory is yours!'
Rice, speaking during the parade, warned rivals: 'Next year we're coming back for more. Lock in or get locked out.' The midfielder also praised the team and manager Mikel Arteta, saying: 'I love this team, I love this manager.'
Criticism has come from figures such as Gary Lineker, who said PSG's victory was 'a win for football', and Sir Alex Ferguson, who criticised Arsenal's style. Arteta acknowledged the need for improvement, stating: 'We're going to have to show that ambition because they are more than capable of doing it.'
