Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi will serve a one-match touchline ban after being shown a yellow card during the 1-0 defeat at Leeds United.
The booking at Elland Road was the Spurs boss's third of the season, triggering an automatic one-match suspension. The ban will take effect after the international break, when Tottenham host Ipswich in the Premier League.
Frustration over Bogle challenge
The yellow card came after De Zerbi reacted angrily on the touchline to a strong tackle from Leeds defender Jayden Bogle on Mathys Tel. The Frenchman was forced off just before half-time after attempting to play on following the challenge.
Standard Sport understands Spurs are set to submit a formal complaint about the decision not to send off Bogle, writing to refereeing body Pro Ref for an explanation.
Despite the defeat ending Tottenham's three-game winning streak, De Zerbi declined to criticise the officiating. "No, I have big confidence in the referee," he said when asked if he would have wanted referee John Brooks to review Bogle's challenge on the monitor.
"Nothing changes if he goes to watch the clip or not. I think there was the VAR, and if they didn't take the right decision, I don't know. But we have confidence, we have to keep our eyes on the performance where we can improve."
Previous bookings and future risk
De Zerbi's first booking of the campaign came in the goalless draw at home to Everton, and his second followed in Tottenham's win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
He will next be at risk of a touchline ban if he accumulates six yellow cards, or if he is given a straight red card when he returns to the dugout against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on November 29.
