Cristiano Ronaldo is set for talks with Manchester United this week as doubts persist over his future at the club. The 37-year-old forward returned to the UK on Monday after missing the pre-season tour due to a family issue.
Manager Erik ten Hag is expected to meet Ronaldo in the coming days, keen to integrate him into his plans. However, Ronaldo's representatives have been seeking a move elsewhere, with the player keen to play in the Champions League this season.
Chelsea have ruled out signing Ronaldo after earlier talks, while Bayern Munich have also declined a deal. Atlético Madrid are interested but must sell players first. Ronaldo scored 24 goals in 38 appearances for United last season.
Ten Hag expressed no concerns about Ronaldo's fitness, stating: 'We all know Ronaldo is a top professional and will be fit, that is the last concern I have.' United begin their Premier League campaign against Brighton on 7 August.
