Manchester United travel to Italy to face Champions League debutants Como this evening at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, with both sides level on points after two rounds of the league phase.

Both clubs won their opening match before losing away from home last time out. Manchester United's victory over Sabah in September remains their last win in any competition, with Michael Carrick's side losing to Atletico Madrid eight days ago and drawing with Fulham, Tottenham and Leeds either side of the international break.

Fabregas and Carrick renew rivalry

Como, managed by former Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, won their first-ever Champions League match with a 4-1 thrashing of RB Leipzig but were brought back down to earth with a narrow defeat to Feyenoord last week.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides. The match takes place at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia after the stadium was officially approved by UEFA to host Como's home games in the competition.

Stadium approval confirmed

A statement reads: "Como 1907 can confirm that the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia has been officially approved to host the Club's home fixtures in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League."

"It means Champions League football will be played at the Sinigaglia, allowing Como supporters to experience the Club's first season in the competition at home, on the shores of Lake Como."

"To meet UEFA requirements, a programme of works has been completed at the stadium, including the construction of a new stand and upgrades across its infrastructure, safety and operational facilities."
