Jeremy Clarkson Roasts F1 Star Oscar Piastri Over 40-Minute Tractor Fail

Jeremy Clarkson has taken a playful swipe at Formula 1 driver Oscar Piastri after the McLaren star struggled to reverse a tractor during a visit to Diddly Squat Farm. The incident, which featured in the latest series of Clarkson's Farm on Prime Video, saw Piastri spend around 40 minutes attempting to manoeuvre a trailer into a barn under the guidance of farm manager Kaleb Cooper.

Clarkson, known for his blunt humour, quipped that they would be stuck there until sunrise waiting for Piastri to crack the task. Cooper, unaware of Piastri's celebrity status, thoroughly enjoyed demonstrating the technique. The Australian driver, aged 25, has since revealed that the embarrassing experience proved useful during the 2024 Melbourne Grand Prix.

Piastri told The Guardian that after getting stuck in the grass, he recalled his tractor training. 'I tried to go forwards, and couldn't. Good thing I spent some time in the off-season trying to learn how to reverse a tractor on Jeremy Clarkson's farm. I think it came in handy today.' The driver eventually reversed his McLaren out of the grass, shedding valuable seconds in the process.

Piastri, who has nine Grand Prix victories to his name, shared a TikTok video of the tractor ordeal, showing Clarkson telling viewers: 'Behind me in that tractor, that is Oscar. We wanted to see if he could reverse that trailer into that slot in the barn. How long has he been doing it? About 40 minutes?' Cooper added: 'Yeah about 40 minutes now, I thought you said he was a driver?'

The visit took place in 2024, and Piastri's off-season training at the farm has now become a talking point among fans. Clarkson's Farm series five, which also covers the presenter's personal health struggles, is available to stream on Prime Video.
