Chelsea's pre-season tour continues with a friendly against Juventus in Hong Kong on Wednesday, with Mykhailo Mudryk available for selection for the first time since his doping ban was lifted.
Mudryk could feature
The 25-year-old has not played for Chelsea since November 2024. Head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed he could be involved, but not for the full match.
“He came directly from the airport to the hotel. Yesterday was more about the feelings and emotions, than to assess fitness level. But yes, he could play. 90 minutes too early. He can be selected, he can play,” Alonso said.
Team news
Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson joined the squad last weekend after extended leave following the World Cup, but were not involved in the 2-1 loss to Tottenham in Sydney. Robert Sanchez, who missed that game through injury, is in the squad and will compete with Mike Penders for the goalkeeper spot.
New signing Danny Welbeck is in contention to make his debut after arriving from Brighton, as is winger Geovany Quenda, who has recovered from a knock and joined the squad.
Fitness concerns
Cole Palmer was pictured doing individual work at training on Tuesday, while Levi Colwill did not train. Players who reached the latter stages of the World Cup, including Morgan Rogers and Jordan Henderson, remain absent.
