Klopp Calls for Lifetime Bans After 'Disgusting' Salah Chants

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has condemned as 'disgusting' the racial abuse directed at Mohamed Salah by Chelsea fans before their Europa League match against Slavia Prague, calling for those responsible to be banned from football for life.

A video on social media showed a small group of supporters chanting 'bomber' at the Egypt international. Klopp said the incident is symptomatic of a wider problem and demanded a stronger reaction from football authorities.

'These guys now are football fans and if you do something like that you should not be able to enter a stadium again, in my point of view, in your life,' Klopp said. 'It's just a complete misunderstanding of how life should be.'

Chelsea acted swiftly, identifying six individuals and preventing three from entering the stadium in Prague. The club is working to identify the remaining three and intends to ban all six from attending matches.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud also expressed disgust, saying: 'It's not acceptable, these guys don't belong to Chelsea. We are 100% behind Mo Salah.'

Meanwhile, Arsenal have launched an investigation after a fan was heard racially abusing Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly during their Europa League tie.
