Chelsea produced a dominant display at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, thrashing Port Vale 7-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals. The victory secured their place in the semi-finals, where they will join Manchester City.
After a slow start, Chelsea took control following Tosin Adarabioyo's header from a corner in the 58th minute. Andrey Santos added a second from another set piece, and Estêvão scored the third after a rebound hit the post. Alejandro Garnacho, Liam Delap, and a late penalty from substitute Ryan Kavuma-McQueen completed the rout.
Port Vale manager Jon Brady said his side were put under pressure from the first minute. 'We put ourselves under extreme pressure conceding in the first minute. Three set pieces, we didn't defend well enough. Very frustrating,' Brady told BBC Sport. 'I'm proud of the players overall. It shows how ruthless the players are at this level.'
Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabioyo praised the team's performance after a two-week break. 'It's been a two-week break since our last games which didn't go so well and we wanted to come back home and put a good result in and that's what we did,' he said.
The match also saw the senior debut of 17-year-old Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, who came on as a substitute in the 77th minute. Port Vale, who had beaten a Premier League and a Championship side en route to the quarter-finals, now face relegation to League Two.
