The real Celtic Treble is still on as Charlie Mulgrew sends Hotline into meltdown over Tennent's Sixes antics. Robbie Copeland takes your calls as Scottish football gears up for the return of the domestic game.
You know it's international week when two days on from the Tennent's Sixes at Braehead Arena, it's still the major Scottish football talking point.
Mulgrew's Celebration Sparks Global Reaction
Charlie Mulgrew called out Ian Durrant for snubbing the Celtic players – and said that made their victory in the final all the more sweet.
That admission has gone global as John Forster got in touch all the way from Sydney to say: "Charlie Mulgrew admitted that he turned up for the final with a hangover and an agenda. He then smashes and abuses Martyn Waghorn for nutmegging him. He abuses the Rangers bench because they did not say hello. Then he bigs himself up like a tough guy. It sounds like paranoia to me. Charlie, put your big boy pants on try acting like a role model. PS- here’s a Hello Hello to you Charlie and a big cuddle from me."
Phillip Borland said: "Celtic win the Tennent's Sixes tournament and Celtic players are celebrating as if they had won the Champions League. Also when the whistle went for full time in the final what did Charlie Mulgrew do? Walk over to the Rangers bench and say to the Rangers players 'get it up yous'. That was really mature of him. Mulgrew is nothing but a idiot and shouldn't be allowed to play in any tournaments again."
Fans Defend Celtic's Celebrations
Some balance though as Gary Stevenson, Newtonhill, said: "I totally understand Charlie Mulgrew over-celebrating when Celtic won the Tennent's Sixes – I did the same when I was third in my golf clubs monthly medal!"
Charles Maxwell said: "Congratulations to Celtic on their victory in the Tennent's Sixes. It's always good to get the first trophy of the season in the bag and it keeps us on track for the treble. We may have left it late. But that's just what Celtic do."
Martin O'Neil must be seriously considering promoting Johnny Hayes back to the 1st team. At 40 years of age he still looks the part. Maybe he should get Kieran Tierney in touch with his fitness coach...
There was perhaps a bit of tongue in cheek from William Hutchison, Aberdeen, who said: "Yes Rangers knocked us out League Cup, yes they beat us at home, yes they thrashed us 7-1 in the first day of the Tennent's Sixes, but nothing is sweeter than us pipping Rangers to the the Tennent's trophy in the final and watch on YouTube the angry scenes in Rangers dressing room after final whistle as they are blaming each other for the defeat. Yes, revenge is so sweet."
Premiership Resumes This Weekend
Now a quick word for the real stuff as the Premiership season gets set to resume this weekend.
Celtic face Motherwell and are looking to get their campaign back on the rails after back-to-back defeats to Rangers.
Stephen Mulhern, Dumbarton, said: "I’ve not got the foggiest idea what Martin O’Neill has on his music playlist, however the famous Clash hit from the early eighties springs to mind with Should I Stay or Should I Go during the international break. I’m somewhat surprised he’s not left."
Losing at Fir Park certainly wouldn't mean the league is lost but if it happens, not bringing in Kjetil Knutsen to kickstart Kasper Hogh's career could be Celtic's downfall.
