Hearts and Celtic played out an enthralling first half at Tynecastle, with the scores level at 1-1. The hosts took an early lead after just seven minutes when Lawrence Shankland’s rebound was turned into his own net by Celtic defender Dane Murray.
Celtic weathered the early storm and grew into the game, equalising through captain Callum McGregor. Kieran Tierney’s cross found McGregor, who fired low into the bottom corner to silence the home crowd.
Both sides had chances to take the lead before the break. Celtic’s Benjamin Nygren wasted a golden opportunity from six yards out, while Hearts’ Shankland saw a shot blocked. The match grew heated as Hearts’ Devlin and Celtic’s McGregor squared up and had to be separated.
