Michael Carrick issued a spiky response to questions about his Manchester United future following a chaotic 4-4 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
The former England midfielder's position as Old Trafford boss remains subject to intense speculation after an eight-goal thriller at home.
United fight back twice
United made another woeful start and trailed 2-0 after only four minutes through goals from Alysson and Nicolas Jackson. They were back level at the break thanks to Bruno Fernandes' penalty and an equaliser by former Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans.
Villa struck twice again in the first eight minutes of the second half through a John McGinn spot-kick and Leon Goretzka's finish, leaving Carrick under pressure.
Having recovered from a 2-0 half-time deficit to beat Roma 3-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday, United fought back from two goals down for the second time as Joshua Zirkzee scored before a stoppage-time leveller from fellow substitute Patrick Dorgu.
Carrick's spiky interview
Carrick faced more questions about his future in an awkward interview with Patrick Davison on Sky Sports. Asked what he expected to happen after being told "clearly there's going to be a conversation", Carrick replied: "Is there?"
When Davison said "you would assume so really", Carrick shot back with a smile: "Would you?" Asked again what he thought, Carrick said: "You're telling me. What do you think?"
Pressed for his opinion, Carrick responded: "You know the situation, we haven't won enough games. But I expect to move forward with things we've been working on, showing a lot of the good from today, tighten up a few mistakes and win some football matches."
Position uncertain
Carrick reaffirmed that him resigning from the United job was "not going to happen".
United have one win in 10 Premier League matches this season, against newly-promoted Ipswich in August, and sit inside the relegation zone with eight points. A review of the situation is expected during the international break, with a trip to Liverpool at Anfield next.
