Carrick stays silent on Man United fan communication row
Carrick refuses to comment on Man United fan communication

Michael Carrick has declined to comment on whether Manchester United's hierarchy should improve communication with supporters to clarify the club's direction, as pressure mounts following a poor run of results.

United have won just two of their 12 matches in the 2026/27 season. They face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, and another defeat would intensify scrutiny on Carrick's position.

Fan anger targets owners and players

While Carrick's job is under threat, supporters have directed their frustration at the club's players and leadership. Fans chanted against the owners and club chiefs at Old Trafford last week and booed the players off the pitch.

Asked whether there should be better communication with fans about the club's direction, Carrick told TNT Sports: "If there's one thing I care about from outside these walls it's what the supporters are thinking and how they are feeling. That's all that matters to me because we're all in this together.

"We're all hungry and desperate. We understand there will be things that are talked about - I'm not interested in that, I'm just focusing on making us better."

Crisis talks and Carrick's future

Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada held crisis talks with United's owners on Monday to decide whether to give Carrick more time. He was granted a stay of execution, but another defeat this afternoon would push him closer to the exit.

Carrick signed a two-year deal at Old Trafford in May but already appears to be on the brink.
