Michael Carrick has suggested Manchester United could complete more business before the transfer deadline, which closes at 11pm BST on Tuesday night.
United have spent heavily this summer, overhauling their midfield with the arrivals of Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba. Tielemans and Santos have featured prominently in the opening matches of the campaign, while Baleba, who arrived with an ankle injury, is likely weeks away from making his debut.
Carrick pleased with signings so far
Speaking after United's 5-2 defeat of Ipswich on Sunday, Carrick told Sky Sports: “We've done some fantastic business. With the money we've spent, we've done it very well. So far, we're happy. You're always looking for more if you can do something else and make the most of the situation.”
He added: “At the moment, the group's in a good place, and they want to fight for each other, which is important.”
Defensive concerns remain
United have conceded four goals to newly-promoted sides in their opening two Premier League matches, which could prompt a defensive addition before the window shuts. The club have been linked with Newcastle full-back Lewis Hall, although a deal does not appear close to completion.
Luke Shaw, the player Hall would be tasked with backing up or replacing, was at fault for Ipswich's first goal on Sunday. Shaw said: “I'm disappointed in myself for the first goal, someone with that experience I should be doing much better so I take responsibility for that. That's not me and I was extremely disappointed with myself.”
