Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has reignited his rivalry with Manchester United icon Rio Ferdinand ahead of Sunday's clash between the two clubs. The feud flared up after Ferdinand posted an image on social media platform X showing him celebrating a United goal against Liverpool, with a dejected Carragher visible in the background. Ferdinand captioned the post: "Caption this."
Carragher responded with a sharp jibe, writing: "Have some of that bruv, you Scouse xxxx' probably.......Not like you to make sure you were in the picture of someone else's goal. You now carry on this ritual by hanging around mixed zones, bothering star players & asking your lackeys to film it!"
The two pundits have a history of clashes, including a notable incident in 2023 when Carragher branded Ferdinand a 'clown' over a disputed penalty decision during a Champions League semi-final. Ferdinand later expressed confusion over the hostility, stating: "Every time I see him it's all love man... I don't understand why he came in with hostility."
