Pre-draw and main draw timings
Because Champions League and Europa League match weeks clash directly with round three, the eight teams participating in those two UEFA competitions are placed into pot one and will not face one another. A pre-draw involving those sides will take place before the Preston vs Everton tie, at approximately 7.20pm, determining whether they will play home or away.
The main draw will be made at around 10.30pm, when the sides will discover their opponents. Third round ties will take place in the weeks commencing September 7 and 14.
How to watch on TV
Supporters wishing to watch the main draw live on UK television can tune in to Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football after the second round tie between Preston and Everton.
