The Carabao Cup third-round draw took place on Wednesday evening, with Premier League sides competing in Europe entering the competition. Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Crystal Palace were among the teams involved in the draw.
Third-round draw details
The draw was scheduled to get underway at around 10.30pm BST at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, following a night of second-round action across the country.
Tottenham cruise past Charlton
Tottenham eased past Charlton Athletic with a 5-1 victory. Savio scored on his debut, netting twice, with the second goal initially credited to him before being awarded to Ben Davies. Thierno Barry scored a hat-trick as Everton faced Preston, while Newcastle edged West Bromwich Albion 3-2 at St James' Park thanks to a late winner from Harvey Barnes.
Other second-round results
West Ham produced a fine display to sink Southampton, and Brentford hit Birmingham City for six. Hull City needed penalties to sneak past their opponents, while Ipswich and Coventry got their business done in normal time.
