Holders Manchester City remain in the hunt to retain the trophy and will now prepare for a last-eight meeting with Bradford City. Liverpool secured their place in the quarter-finals with a sudden-death penalty shootout win over Chelsea on Wednesday night.
Fleetwood Town's giant-killing run continues
Arsenal, beaten in last season's final, were eliminated after a shock defeat to Fleetwood Town at Highbury. Fleetwood, who sit in the bottom half of League Two, will now face either Everton or Newcastle United.
Everton and Newcastle meet on Thursday night in the only tie still to be decided. All quarter-final matches are scheduled for the week of December 14.
