Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt has backed his old club to finish in the top four this season, praising a new 'mindset' after a late equaliser against West Ham. Benjamin Sesko's stunning volley in the 96th minute secured a 1-1 draw, keeping United's Champions League hopes on track.
United conceded first in the second half and struggled for long periods, but their persistence paid off. The point leaves them two points behind third-placed Aston Villa and one ahead of fifth-placed Chelsea, with 12 games remaining.
Butt told the BBC: 'Six weeks ago, Man Utd lose that game 2-0 or 3-0, but now they're in a different mindset. I'm convinced they would have lost that game, their heads would have gone down, but now there's a different mindset.'
The former England midfielder added that he expects United to finish third or fourth, calling it 'a really good end to the season for Michael Carrick and Man Utd'. United's next match is against Everton on 23 February.
