Bruno Guimaraes' future is set to become the biggest transfer saga of the summer as the Newcastle midfielder pushes for a blockbuster move to Arsenal.
The 28-year-old has reported for pre-season with Newcastle for the first time, arriving in La Manga after extended leave following Brazil's World Cup run. His priority, however, remains a switch to the Premier League champions, with reports indicating Arsenal have already had an opening formal offer rejected by the Magpies.
A fee in the region of £75m has been mooted, and Arsenal are working to secure the best possible deal before their season opener against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, August 16.
Who is Ana Lidia?
Guimaraes' wife, Ana Lidia, has been by his side since 2020, when the couple began dating during his time at Athletico Paranaense. Just months later, she moved to France with him following his transfer to Lyon.
Ana completed academic training in nutrition and works as a nutritionist, while also taking courses related to personal training and health.
Marriage and family
The couple welcomed their first child in 2022, with Guimaraes posting a gushing message to Ana on social media. They married in 2023 in Rio de Janeiro in a spectacular ceremony under the statue of Christ the Redeemer, and welcomed their second child in March 2024.
Social media star
Ana has built a following as a social media personality, posting about fitness, nutrition and family life. She regularly travels to support her husband, sharing stadium visits, travel destinations and relaxing beach getaways.
During the World Cup, she got into the spirit by donning Brazil shirts and posing alongside their two boys as she cheered Guimaraes on. The midfielder will be eager to return to the pitch after missing a crucial penalty in the round-of-16 defeat to Norway.
Newcastle face Valencia in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, though it remains unclear whether Guimaraes will feature.
