Brennan Johnson has hit back at talkSPORT pundits Jamie O'Hara and Gabriel Agbonlahor after the pair criticised the Wales international live on air.
Johnson has penned a four-year contract with Everton, with Dwight McNeil going the other way to Crystal Palace as part of a swap deal completed on Tuesday.
The Wales international had only joined Palace back in January, and leaves without scoring a single goal, although he did provide two assists.
Nevertheless, he did scoop his second European trophy in the space of a year after lifting the Conference League - 12 months on from winning the Europa League with Tottenham.
Johnson actually scored the winner in that final with Manchester United in 2025, but his career was the subject of heavy criticism from O'Hara and Agbonlahor, who were analysing this latest swap deal.
Pundits' Criticism
"I like Dwight McNeil. Brennan Johnson has been a myth for a few seasons, right? He didn't do it at Spurs. One of our seasons he got top scorer, but hides in big games," O'Hara said. "Hides."
"You look at both of them, their outputs," Agbonlahor said. "16 Premier League appearances for Spurs [Johnson], two goals, zero assists. Then at Palace, zero goals, one assist."
"Then Dwight McNeil last season, 22 appearances in the Premier League, zero goals, one assist. So he's not doing enough as well."
"I like Dwight McNeil," O'Hara reiterated. "If I was going to look at a player on a football pitch and say who would I rather have, I'd take Dwight McNeil. He's going to work hard, lovely left foot. He'll give you something."
"Brennan Johnson... he's so frustrating. He's got all the attributes."
"I agree," Agbonlahor added. "When I watch him, I'm like, you're not using your pace. You're so quick - use it right. When you get it, knock it past the player at the right time. Get a cross in. He'll always make the wrong decision."
"And like you said, he's happy to get it and pass it, and then he's like, 'Don't give it back to me'."
"I guess maybe that's a confidence thing," O'Hara continued. "Maybe David Moyes might be the right move. He's got the attributes - he showed it at Nottingham Forest. Spurs bought him for 50 million quid."
Johnson's Response
The clip was posted to Instagram on talkSport's official Instagram account, and Johnson couldn't resist the opportunity to fire back.
The Wales international wrote: "Won more than both of these put together," alongside a laughing emoji.

Johnson has occasionally found himself on the end of criticism from Wales fans too, although boss Craig Bellamy has long been a staunch supporter of the forward's abilities.
In 2024, he said: "He's a good footballer, he has ridiculous talent, his high-intensity is through the roof, it is elite. If I'm in a [club manager] job I'll go and buy him."
"He's got every part of football that's going to make him elite and that's the player I see."
