Manchester United are continuing to strengthen their squad, with transfer activity ongoing. Barcelona prospect Marc Bernal has been linked with a move, but reports indicate he wants to stay. Meanwhile, United forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly a target for Juventus, with talks underway over a potential deal.
Bernal’s Stance on Barcelona Future
Barcelona star Marc Bernal has reportedly made it clear that he plans to remain with his boyhood club. The 19-year-old recently enjoyed a breakthrough campaign, making 22 league appearances and earning his Spain debut.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo reports that Manchester United are one of several clubs to have shown interest in the defensive midfielder. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Roma and Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, have also been linked.
However, Mundo Deportivo claims that Bernal has “absolute loyalty” to Barcelona. Bernal is under contract until 2029, and his deal is said to include a £427 million (€500m) release clause.
United in Talks Over Zirkzee Deal
Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Juventus over a deal that could see Joshua Zirkzee leave Old Trafford. The 25-year-old has struggled to secure a regular spot since arriving from Bologna in 2024.
The Sun reports that Zirkzee is a “top target” for Juve, who are leading the race for his signature. The clubs are said to be “in talks” over a loan move that includes a £30m obligation to buy. Juventus reportedly turned to Zirkzee after failing to agree a deal for PSG’s Randal Kolo Muani. The Netherlands international is reportedly “keen” on joining the Serie A side.
Zirkzee has played 75 games across two years at United, scoring nine goals. He started one of his 10 appearances under manager Michael Carrick last season.
