Bradley Barcola has bid farewell to Paris Saint-Germain, with a Liverpool medical booked. The France international, who impressed at the World Cup across North America, is set to become Liverpool's marquee summer signing following a breakthrough in negotiations.
PSG accept £123m bid
It has been widely reported that PSG have accepted a bid worth £123million, including add-ons, from the Reds for Barcola and the winger has been granted permission to finalise his move. According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Barcola will be in Liverpool on Sunday for his medical and will then sign a five-year contract, becoming Andoni Iraola's third signing after Victor Munoz and Ronald Araujo.
Farewell at PSG campus
Before that though, the 23-year-old was spotted leaving the PSG campus on Saturday for one last time, signing autographs and shirts for supporters ahead of his flight to the UK.
Iraola stays tight-lipped
As Liverpool prepare to wrap up a third deal worth well over £100m in a little over a year, Iraola remained tight-lipped on transfer speculation when speaking after the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest. “I cannot tell you anything different right now,” the Liverpool head coach told reporters. “It's true that there are things going on, like is normal because we are talking about the last weeks of the market, but now we have to wait.
“I'm looking forward to having the squad [on] September 2, [so we can say] this is who we are and working with certainties. Now everything is quite like uncertain and it's the same for every team, but it's how the competition works. Now we have to wait just some [more] days and work with what we have after the market closes.”
