Marcus Rashford is reportedly determined to rejoin Barcelona for the upcoming season, despite the Spanish club deciding against triggering a £26 million permanent transfer clause. The 28-year-old England forward spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Barcelona, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in a productive spell that earned him a place in England's World Cup squad.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Rashford has been encouraged by Barcelona manager Hansi Flick that another move could be arranged, potentially via a fresh loan or a renegotiated fee with Manchester United. However, his chances of returning suffered a blow after Barcelona signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for around £69 million.
Rashford's future remains uncertain, with reports suggesting a return to Manchester United's first-team squad is also possible. United boss Michael Carrick has maintained regular contact with the forward and has not ruled out a comeback, stating in April that 'nothing's been decided' regarding Rashford's situation.
