Atletico Madrid Furious Over Julian Alvarez Transfer Rumours

Atletico Madrid have launched a furious social media response to reports linking Julian Alvarez with a move to Barcelona. The Spanish club posted a series of sarcastic messages on X, mocking suggestions that the Catalan giants are working to sign the Argentine forward.

Reports in Spain claimed Barcelona had lodged an opening offer of €100m for Alvarez. In response, Atletico shared mocked-up images of Barcelona stars Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Raphinha in their own shirt, accompanied by fake transfer proposals involving concert tickets and loan deals.

The club later issued a statement denying any offer to Barcelona's sporting director and accusing the Catalan club of running a 'smear campaign' against Alvarez. 'Leaked information with ulterior motives, fake news, constant disrespect... the culé version of the propaganda machine inventing little stories,' the statement read.

Atletico captain Koke also addressed the rumours, telling Marca: 'Julian is an Atletico Madrid player, he has a contract until 2030 and a release clause of many millions. That's all I can tell you.' He added that Alvarez has been linked with Barcelona since his arrival two years ago.
