Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes in a deal worth around £75million. The Brazilian has penned a four-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, becoming the club's fourth arrival of the window after Illan Meslier, Christos Tzolis and Piero Hincapie.
Guimaraes sends message to Newcastle fans
The move was confirmed on Saturday, with Guimaraes also sending a classy message to Magpies supporters. However, the Gunners' business is far from done, with Mikel Arteta eager to strengthen further ahead of a renewed Premier League title challenge.
They were heavily linked with a move for Vinicius Junior before it emerged he had decided to stay at Real Madrid. Now, Express Sport looks at three other players Arsenal could target after Guimaraes.
Kenan Yildiz
After missing out on Vinicius, Arsenal have been linked with a swoop for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. They have reportedly been tracking the Turkish winger for some time and could firm up their interest in the coming weeks, according to The Times.
It's claimed Arsenal have already approached Juventus, but have been told Yildiz is not for sale. However, that is exactly what Newcastle said about Guimaraes before finally agreeing to let him leave, so a deal may still be possible.
Pio Esposito
Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Inter Milan striker Pio Esposito, who has also been linked with Manchester United. According to The Sun, the north Londoners are leading the Red Devils in the race to sign the 21-year-old this summer.
The report states that while Inter don't want to sell, they would reluctantly accept an offer in the region of £73m. Esposito is thought to be keen on the Premier League but won't force an exit.
Ezri Konsa
Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa has been mooted as another potential signing, with Arsenal reportedly seeing a bid knocked back last month. They are preparing to return with an improved proposal, according to The Guardian, but it's not known if Villa would be willing to negotiate.
The report claims Villa value Konsa at around £60m and are not interested in letting him go for less. The former Brentford man, a regular for England at the World Cup, remains tied down at Villa Park until 2028.
