UEFA has changed the kick-off time for this year's Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain to 5pm BST (6pm CET), a departure from the traditional 8pm start. The match will take place on May 30 in Budapest.
The earlier time aims to improve travel for supporters, allowing easier access to public transport and reducing stress for those making single-day trips. An earlier finish also enables fans to celebrate in the host city, boosting local businesses.
The new slot aligns with a more accessible global broadcasting window, targeting a broader audience and younger viewers. Even with extra time or penalties, the match will finish before 8pm local time, compared to nearly midnight under the previous schedule.
