Arsenal boost as Calafiori, Rice and Tzolis train ahead of Liverpool
Arsenal triple boost as trio train ahead of Liverpool clash

Mikel Arteta has confirmed Riccardo Calafiori, Declan Rice and Christos Tzolis all took part in training on Friday, giving Arsenal a triple boost ahead of Sunday's Premier League match away to Liverpool.

Calafiori and Rice missed the Carabao Cup fourth-round defeat to Fleetwood Town in midweek after picking up knocks against Everton last weekend. Tzolis has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury while on international duty with Greece, but the winger is now nearing a return to fitness.

Arteta Confirms Trio's Availability

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Arteta said the three players will be included in the squad to face Liverpool if they come through Saturday's training session without any issues.

"They all trained today. They will train tomorrow and if all is okay, they will be available," he said.

Madueke and Saliba Updates

Noni Madueke, who also missed the Fleetwood defeat, remains a doubt for the match. Arteta said: "We don't know yet, we have a training session tomorrow, let's see if he can complete it." The Arsenal manager did not rule Madueke out of contention entirely.

William Saliba is not expected to return until late November at the earliest due to a back problem, while Bukayo Saka is recovering from a thigh injury that is expected to keep him out until December.

On Saka, Arteta commented: "He needed another scan to see the amount of fluid there was resolving, afterwards we will know more about it." Asked whether the winger would miss England's upcoming fixtures, he added: "Again, I don't know, it looks likely but we'll have to wait and see next week."

Dowman Suspended After Red Card

Max Dowman will be unavailable for selection after being sent off against Fleetwood for lashing out at Harrison Neal. The 16-year-old will miss matches against Liverpool, Hull and Newcastle while serving a three-match ban.

Arsenal's appeal against the red card was rejected by an independent commission, which dismissed arguments of both wrongful dismissal and excessive punishment.

Arteta said: "Very disappointed to be fair especially with the reckless tackle that he received. His reaction is minimal in compared to the action." He added: "It is what it is, we have put every argument on the table to make a case for it, not only [was] Max's action is clear, obviously we have a very different opinion, you have to read into the context, the age, the player. It could have been really bad and we're really lucky today that he doesn't have a broken foot."
