Arsenal Trio in PFA Player of the Year Shortlist

Arsenal trio Declan Rice, Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya have been shortlisted for the men's PFA Player's Player of the Year award. They face competition from Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City pair Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki.

Fernandes, who has already won the Premier League's player of the season and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year, set a new assist record with 21 goals set up, helping Manchester United finish third and secure Champions League football.

Rice contributed 11 goals and assists in a more advanced role early in the season before dropping deeper to help Arsenal secure crucial wins. Gabriel and Raya were integral to Arsenal winning their first league title in over 20 years, though they lost in the Champions League and Carabao Cup finals.

Haaland scored 38 goals in all competitions for Manchester City, who won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Cherki, signed for £30 million from Lyon, contributed to 25 goals in 52 appearances in his debut Premier League season.

With Arsenal's title success, Rice appears to be the leading contender, though Fernandes's two other accolades make it a close contest.
