Arsenal have agreed a fee in the region of £7 million with Everton for the sale of midfielder Christian Norgaard, as reported by the Liverpool ECHO. A medical is due to take place next week before the move is finalised.
Norgaard joined Arsenal last summer but struggled for game time at the Emirates Stadium. He made only seven Premier League appearances last season, with a further 18 in all other competitions.
Bruno Guimaraes priority
The departure of Norgaard suggests Arsenal anticipate further additions in midfield, with Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes emerging as a key target. Arsenal's interest in the Brazilian comes at a time of uncertainty at St James' Park.
Eddie Howe left his position as Newcastle boss this week, with reports indicating his decision was partly influenced by the possibility of Guimaraes leaving this summer, following the sales of Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali.
