Arsenal have reportedly been told how much they would have to pay to secure the signing of Julian Alvarez this summer. The striker has been linked with a move to the north London club, with Barcelona also believed to be interested in the Argentine.
Gunners tracking Alvarez all summer
Even though Arsenal spent big on Viktor Gyokeres last summer, Mikel Arteta is believed to be a huge admirer of Alvarez and views him as the missing piece to the jigsaw. It is the sort of transfer those inside the Emirates Stadium believe could take them to the next level and finally help deliver that elusive Champions League title.
Record fee required for Atletico deal
But if the Arsenal hierarchy want to make this happen, they will have to put forward a club record fee for the forward, given Atletico Madrid are demanding way over £120million for his signature. That is according to The Athletic, who report Atletico would consider sanctioning a sale for €150m, which translates to around £128m.
