Arsenal are in talks with Galatasaray over a possible move for Gabriel Martinelli, while Juventus reportedly consider Kenan Yildiz unsellable despite the Gunners' interest.
Martinelli talks progress
The 25-year-old Brazilian has entered the final year of his contract at the Emirates Stadium. Galatasaray expressed interest over the weekend, and negotiations over a fee are underway, according to football.london. However, the forward's exit will not be sanctioned until Arsenal secure a replacement.
Martinelli lost his starting spot to Leandro Trossard last season, who joined Besiktas earlier this summer. Arsenal have already brought in Christos Tzolis on the left flank and continue to be linked with other wide targets, such as Yildiz.
Yildiz stance clear
Juventus are reportedly unwilling to sell Yildiz, who has been linked with a move to north London this summer. The 21-year-old emerged as a potential option after Vinicius Junior signed a new deal with Real Madrid.
Tutto Juve reports that Yildiz is "considered unsellable" by the Italian club. Arsenal are claimed to have significant interest, but Juventus want to build the new team around the Turkey international. The stance is reportedly unchanged from when Arsenal made an initial approach in June.
Arsenal were also linked with Yildiz last summer, with Juventus previously valuing him at around £85m. In February, he signed a new contract until 2030. Yildiz scored 10 goals and assisted seven in 36 Serie A appearances last season.
Arteta wants more
Arsenal remain intent on strengthening their squad in the final weeks of the transfer window. Manager Mikel Arteta has a clear idea of how he wishes to improve his side as the Gunners aim for back-to-back Premier League titles. Tzolis and midfielder Bruno Guimaraes are the marquee arrivals so far, but the pursuit of Vinicius shows Arteta still wants more.
"Well, that's what we're trying to do," Arteta said when asked about new signings. "If we have the right player in the market to make us much better. We are very looking forward to that."
