Paris Saint-Germain are sweating over the fitness of two key players ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest. The French champions, who recently secured yet another Ligue 1 title, face a Gunners side that ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League crown last week.
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, star full-back Achraf Hakimi is unlikely to start the final due to a thigh injury sustained nearly a month ago during the Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old has been sidelined ever since and is not expected to return to training until Wednesday, just three days before the showdown.
PSG hosted an in-house friendly featuring 20-minute halves, but Hakimi was unable to participate. After four weeks out, the right-back faces a major challenge to be fit for one of the biggest games of his career. Fellow absentee Ousmane Dembele also missed that friendly, having been sidelined since being substituted in the first half of PSG's recent defeat to neighbours Paris FC.
Despite the setback, Dembele appears confident he can shake off his injury concerns to start the final. All eyes will be on PSG's training session on Tuesday, when the squad will next be put through their paces. The match at the Puskas Arena pits arguably the two best teams in Europe against each other, but PSG are unlikely to be at full strength.
