Former England striker Andy Carroll has been appointed interim manager at National League South side Dagenham & Redbridge, adding to his existing roles as player and part-owner. The 37-year-old, who joined the club on a three-year deal last July, steps in following the dismissal of Lee Bradbury.
Carroll has scored six goals in 12 league appearances this season but has been sidelined by injury in recent months. His investment in the club was confirmed last month when he became a shareholder.
Bradbury was relieved of his duties despite a spirited 3-2 away win at Farnborough on Tuesday night. Dagenham & Redbridge currently sit 12th in the league standings with 56 points from 39 matches. Carroll's appointment comes after YouTuber KSI became a shareholder and strategic partner earlier this month.
Off the pitch, Carroll is set to stand trial next year after pleading not guilty to breaching a non-molestation order. The charge relates to allegedly repeatedly calling his ex-wife, reality TV star Billi Mucklow, without reasonable excuse. A trial date of 18 January 2027 was set at Chelmsford Crown Court.
