Andrew Tate Opts Against Immediate Rematch with Chase DeMoor
Andrew Tate is set to reject the opportunity for an immediate rematch with Chase DeMoor, following his defeat in their boxing clash last December. The controversial influencer, who made his boxing debut in the Misfits Boxing event, lost on points over five rounds in Dubai.
Contract Clause Deadline Passes Without Activation
Tate had the option to force a rematch by activating a clause in his contract, with the deadline believed to be this Friday, two months after the initial fight. However, sources confirm that Tate will not pursue this route, choosing instead to focus on other potential opponents.
Despite the loss, Tate has expressed his intention to return to the ring, but it will not be against DeMoor. In a statement after the fight, Tate acknowledged the challenge, saying, "At 40 years old, 10 years retired, it was always going to be a big ask. Chase fought well, it’s better to have tried and lost than not try at all."
Future Fight Plans and Opponent Speculation
A spokesperson for Tate revealed that discussions are underway for his next bout, hinting at a high-profile matchup. "There are other conversations taking place behind the scenes, and when Andrew steps back into the ring, it will be against a name that is going to make a lot of heads turn," the spokesperson said.
Meanwhile, Chase DeMoor has remained active since their fight, stopping Fernando Miguel Tamayo Alvarez in the fourth round last month. DeMoor has also engaged in talks for a title defence against former UFC star Darren Till, though no agreement was reached after a public exchange on social media.
Tate, a former world champion in kickboxing, emphasized his respect for DeMoor and his own efforts, stating, "I won’t sit here and make excuses, I gave it my absolute all and I have nothing but respect for Chase. He deserves this victory." This decision marks a strategic shift in Tate's boxing career as he seeks to rebuild after his debut loss.
