Manchester United could face a busy January transfer window with up to 12 clubs reportedly interested in midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, while left-back Harry Amass also attracts attention from a similar number of suitors, according to reports.
Mainoo, an academy graduate and England international, has struggled for game time under manager Ruben Amorim this season. The 20-year-old has featured 12 times across all competitions but has not started a single Premier League fixture. Napoli, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are among the clubs linked, with Napoli said to be the player's preferred destination as he seeks regular first-team football.
Amass, 18, is currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, where he has made 16 starts in the Championship. With Wednesday near the bottom of the table, promotion-chasing Millwall and Stoke City are rumoured to be among 12 clubs that have made contact regarding his availability.
Amorim's recent comments about young players have fueled speculation. Speaking ahead of United's match against Bournemouth, he said: 'It's the situation, what's happened. I don't know what is going to be the future [for Mainoo]. Let's see after this match. [Harry] Amass is now struggling in the Championship. Chido [Obi] is not always a starter in under 21s. All these guys played when a lot of people were saying sack the manager!'
The potential departures could help United free up squad space and budget for further reinforcements, following a productive summer window that brought in Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo.
