Agent Denies Amorim Man United Sacking Reports

Ruben Amorim's agent has dismissed speculation that the Manchester United manager is on the verge of being sacked, following a difficult start to the season. United have won just one of their opening four Premier League matches, leaving them 14th in the table, only a point above the relegation zone.

Amorim, who replaced Erik ten Hag in the summer, has faced growing criticism after a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the derby. However, the club hierarchy continues to back the Portuguese boss, with a source close to Amorim describing the lack of genuine threat to his position as 'incredible' given the team's form.

Amorim himself has insisted he will not change his philosophy, stating: 'I'm not going to change. When I want to change my philosophy, I will change. If not, you have to change the man.' He added: 'I will give everything... until I'm here, I will do my best.'

Reports in Portugal have linked Amorim with a potential move to Benfica, who are holding presidential elections next month. Candidate Joao Noronha Lopes and former Portugal international Nuno Gomes were reportedly at the Etihad Stadium for the derby, but both denied any contact with Amorim. Noronha Lopes said: 'Ruben is under contract with Manchester United and I won't comment on that.'

United legend Gary Neville has admitted he is 'worried' about the team's future, saying: 'Ruben Amorim is going to come under big pressure... if Manchester United lose next week, they could go to 15th or 16th.' United face Chelsea in their next league fixture.
