Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov is attracting growing interest from clubs in Germany, Denmark, Austria, and Cyprus, with some already making official contact with the Dons.
The Bulgarian international, who became a Scottish Cup hero for the club, is in the final year of his contract, although Aberdeen holds an option to extend for another 12 months. Both the club and Mitov are open to a move in this window, provided Aberdeen's six-figure asking price is met.
Marius Muller already installed as No. 1
Aberdeen boss Stephen Robinson has already brought in Marius Muller from Wolfsburg, and the German has been the Reds' No. 1 since his arrival. Robinson made the move because of interest in Mitov, ensuring he wouldn't be left short if an expected offer came in for the big keeper.
Mitov has spent the last three seasons in Scottish football and is open to a fresh challenge. Aberdeen signed him from St Johnstone for £200,000 in 2024.
Background and national team ambitions
Mitov previously worked with Aberdeen goalkeeping coach Craig Hinchcliffe at St Johnstone. He came through the ranks at Charlton Athletic and is keen to play at the highest level possible to help him secure the No. 1 spot with the Bulgarian national team.
