Aberdeen could move on several more of their squad before the close of the window, with interest in Kusini Yengi and Kenan Bilalovic.
Yengi and Bilalovic attract attention
Australian international striker Yengi has yet to feature under Stephen Robinson. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Cerezo Osaka, but that spell was blighted by injury. Yengi moved up from Portsmouth last summer but has failed to make a positive impact at Pittodrie. He has overseas interest and now Aberdeen chiefs are waiting to see what develops.
Bilalovic is another who has found first-team football hard to come by. The winger has clubs keen on him back in Sweden and Scandinavia.
Palaversa and Frame available
Croat Ante Palaversa is another who is available but previous interest has now gone quiet. It remains to be seen if something will spark for the midfielder in the coming week.
Left-back Mitchel Frame also has interest from a couple of European sides but Aberdeen would be keen on a loan to get him more first-team experience. Aberdeen will also look at whether or not to sanction loans for some of their younger players, including Findlay Marshall.
Squad overhaul under Pfannenstiel
Sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel has already culled a fair number of the Aberdeen squad. They have sold Dimitar Mitov, Kjartan Mar Kjartansson, Alexander Jensen, Topi Keskinen and Nicolas Milanovic for fees this summer. Manager Robinson has already brought in 13 new signings and is keen to add again.
New signing Brad Lyons has been struggling with an injury and could be out for a few weeks. He is also ready looking at possible midfield options. St Mirren’s Killian Phillips is very much in his thoughts, but St Mirren’s £500,000 asking price remains a stumbling block. Phillips could sign a pre-contract in January if he isn’t sold before the close of the window.
