Porn star Abella Danger apologises for ESPN appearance at Miami national title game

Abella Danger has issued an emotional apology after being shown on ESPN during Monday's College Football Playoff final, saying she would 'give anything in the world' to have avoided the spotlight. The adult film star, whose real name is Amirah Day, was captured by cameras as she cheered on her alma mater, the University of Miami, against Indiana at Hard Rock Stadium.

The 30-year-old, who has since left the industry and returned to study at Miami, said she was 'deeply sorry' to anyone offended by her attendance. She also apologised on behalf of ESPN for broadcasting her, after the network had previously shown her at Hurricanes games this season.

Danger's appearance sparked a backlash online, with some criticising ESPN for featuring her. In a statement to TMZ on Tuesday, she said: 'I would give anything in the world to not have had ESPN film me, and I am so deeply sorry to anyone I offended with my attendance at the game.'

The Hurricanes ultimately lost 27-21 to Indiana, with star quarterback Fernando Mendoza scoring a decisive touchdown. Danger was seen crying in an Instagram video after the defeat, repeatedly saying 'I hate this!' as she left the stadium.

Miami had trailed 24-14 when Danger was shown on screen, and despite a late touchdown, an interception by quarterback Carson Beck with 44 seconds left sealed their fate. The game was attended by Tom Brady and Donald Trump, as Indiana claimed their first-ever national title.
