Chronicle Live photographer Iain Buist has selected 19 favourite images from Eddie Howe's almost five-year spell as Newcastle United head coach, following the former Magpies boss's departure. The pictures capture the silverware, the Champions League campaigns and the emotions of a remarkable era at St James' Park.
From trophy lifts to touchline drama
Howe's time in charge saw Newcastle finally lift a trophy and compete in two memorable Champions League campaigns. Buist was there for the majority of matches, with his camera ready at St James' Park and on journeys up and down the country and across Europe.
Among the 19 shots are Howe celebrating with Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes, sharing a joke with coach Graeme Jones, and giving animated instructions from the touchline against Wolves and Manchester City. The gallery also covers a Carabao Cup semi-final win over Southampton, a press conference before Barcelona and a victory at Tottenham in 2026.
An extraordinary period
Other moments include wins over Fulham, Brentford, Aston Villa, West Ham and Nottingham Forest, as well as Howe saluting supporters at Burnley and facing his former club Bournemouth. Fans are also shown showing their support for the head coach throughout the collection.
