Man Utd stars blame Amazon cameras for poor form

Manchester United's players and staff have reportedly begun attributing blame for their miserable start to the season, with the club having secured just two wins in nine games. According to reports, some inside the club are concerned that Amazon Prime's documentary cameras may be exacerbating their early-season difficulties.

The Red Devils are the subject of the latest edition of All or Nothing, the behind-the-scenes series that showcases team meetings, discussions, and dressing room reactions. Following a deal worth over £10 million, a film crew is shadowing Michael Carrick's squad throughout the 2026-27 season, and it has already been a turbulent campaign.

Cameras deemed a 'nuisance'

United's challenging summer transfer window has been followed by a string of disappointing results at the start of the season, as well as a fiery interview from Lisandro Martinez in midweek. Carrick is feeling the pressure just weeks into his inaugural season as the club's full-time manager, but some suspect that Amazon may be the culprit.

The Sun reports that both players and staff believe their peers are biting their tongues during post-match analyses, aware they are under the lens. The cameras are deemed a 'nuisance', and there is a sense that 'punches are being pulled'. Manchester City, Tottenham and Arsenal have previously featured in All or Nothing, while Amazon has also produced series following Australia's Test cricket team and Premiership Rugby.

Carrick's stance on the cameras

Back in August, Carrick was asked about the experience of having cameras around. "That's been fine," the United boss responded. "It's obviously a little bit new, and unique, but the actual day-to-day workings of it, we have that many cameras around anyway that the boys are kind of half-used to it."

"We've got to work through it, of course, but they've been respectful. It probably seems bigger from the outside than it is day-to-day when we're working in it." However, things appear to have shifted within United's inner circle now that the season is well underway, with their trials persisting ahead of a challenging trip to Leeds on Sunday.

Pressure ahead of Leeds clash

Despite the pressure, Carrick remains committed to reversing United's fortunes and appears unfazed by the suggestion that he needs a positive result at Elland Road to secure his position. "I don't think it's the last game I need right now, for sure," the Red Devils' gaffer stated.

"I'm really looking forward to the game. I generally feel the drive for myself to want to push this club forward more than anything. There's always negativity if you want to look for it or you want to feel it, but I don't go looking for it. I don't want to feel it."

"I understand the reality and I've said it enough in terms of feeling like I'm saying the same things, but accepting where we are, but I don't feel that. I'm totally focused on what's best for this place and this football club and what it's going to take to win games, you know, and get the boys playing what we know we're capable of, which we still don't think we're that far away."
