Luke Littler has revealed he expects to be retired from darts by the age of 51 and could move into commentary, while still aiming to chase Phil Taylor's record of 14 World Darts Championship titles.
The 19-year-old world No. 1, who has already won two World Darts Championship titles and gone unbeaten in major events for nine successive months in 2026, was speaking to Manchester United legend Paul Scholes on his The Good, The Bad & The Football YouTube channel.
Retirement plans at 51
Asked what he expected to be doing by the time he reached Scholes' age of 51, Littler said: "Surely [I'll be] retired at 51. Family. Maybe even doing darts commentary or something like that."
When Scholes asked if he fancied that, Littler, who named "Wayne [Mardle] or Stuart Pyke" as his favourite commentators, replied: "Yeah, maybe when I've retired."
Chasing Taylor's record
Littler has been on the professional circuit for three years and has reached the World Darts Championship final on three occasions, winning twice. He is one victory away from a third world title, which would level him with Michael van Gerwen's tally, but remains far from Taylor's record of 14.
Asked if he could surpass Taylor's haul, Littler said: "I think I could. Definitely could. I've got, probably say, 30, 40 years to do it. I've obviously won two in the space of three appearances, so I've got a good record. Obviously as the time goes on, if I really want it."
"If I really want it, then I'm sure I'll go and get it, but I don’t know what's around the corner. Tomorrow I might just retire and just hate darts! You don't know."
