Somerset completed a comprehensive 10-wicket victory over Essex at Chelmsford, led by stand-in captain Craig Overton who added two wickets and a catch to his first-innings century. After Essex managed a lead of just 47, Somerset's Archie Vaughan hit two sixes off Simon Harmer to steer the chase.
Durham secured an innings-and-225-run win over Gloucestershire at Bristol, with Matthew Potts taking a spectacular catch to seal the result. Gloucestershire, following on, lost early wickets after Cameron Bancroft (56) and Ben Charlesworth (26) put on 101 for the first wicket.
At Lord's, Worcestershire beat Middlesex by 57 runs, thanks to Matthew Waite's 34 and two wickets, combined with two run-outs. Surrey were forced to take the third new ball against Leicestershire, who posted 691 – their highest score against Surrey – including 162 from Ben Cox and 100 from Stevie Eskinazi.
Lancashire slumped to 23 for five in their second innings before Marcus Harris (58 not out) rescued them against Derbyshire. Zak Crawley fell for five as Kent followed on against Northamptonshire, while Asa Tribe's unbeaten 82 helped set Glamorgan a target of 478 at Trent Bridge.
Sussex need 94 runs with five wickets in hand to beat Warwickshire at Hove, while Yorkshire were left chasing 426 against Hampshire after Kyle Abbott's four for 11 reduced them to four for two.
