Coatbridge's MP visited Persimmon Homes’ Royale Meadows development in Muirhead to present an apprentice bricklayer with his new kit.
Jordan Atkinson was given the tools of the trade by Frank McNally as he begins to construct his career.
Apprentice's Background
Jordan, 20, from Coatbridge, recently started an apprenticeship as a bricklayer with Persimmon after gaining experience working on construction sites and deciding to formalise his skills through an apprenticeship.
He is combining hands-on experience on site with studies at Glasgow Kelvin College’s Springburn campus.
Support for Apprentices
Persimmon provides its apprentices with the tools and personal protective equipment they need free of charge, helping remove the financial barriers that can come with starting a career in construction.
William Smith, senior regional apprenticeship manager at Persimmon Homes, said: "Jordan has made a great start to his apprenticeship and we’re delighted to support him as he develops his skills."

Jordan's Reaction
