Blockbuster Boxing Showdown Adds Glamour to Miami Event
British boxing superstar Anthony Joshua is set to face YouTube sensation turned professional boxer Jake Paul in a highly anticipated eight-round bout that promises to captivate audiences worldwide. The December 19 showdown in Miami will be streamed live on Netflix, marking a significant moment in boxing entertainment.
The controversial clash between the established champion and social media powerhouse will feature eight three-minute rounds with professional status, despite the unconventional pairing that has divided boxing purists. With an estimated £140 million ($185 million) at stake, the event represents one of the year's most valuable sporting spectacles.
Meet the Ring Girls Stealing the Spotlight
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), Paul's promotion company, has unveiled two of the three ring girls who will feature during the intervals of the heavyweight confrontation. The search continues for a third model to complete the glamorous trio.
Leading the lineup is Raphaela Milagres, a 31-year-old Brazilian model and seasoned ring girl veteran. Her impressive credentials include appearances at numerous high-profile boxing events, including Paul's controversial fight against Mike Tyson last year. Milagres brings substantial experience to the Miami event, having also worked Paul's bouts against Andre August and Ryan Bourland.
The Brazilian beauty rose to prominence through bikini modelling, achieving eighth place at the prestigious Ms Olympia bikini competition in 2018. Her social media presence continues to grow, with 181,000 Instagram followers following her career progression.
Social Media Sensation Joins the Roster
Joining Milagres will be Marissa Ayers, a 22-year-old American social media star with a background in gymnastics. The blonde graduate from the University of Alabama brings athletic pedigree to the event, having trained at the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta and cheered for Stingray Allstars.
Ayers graduated in May with degrees in Public Relations and Advertising, quickly establishing herself as a successful content creator and influencer. Her social media statistics are impressive, boasting 400,000 Instagram followers and an astonishing 1.5 million TikTok followers.
The young star made her ring girl debut earlier this year at MVP Prospects 12 in Orlando, Florida, and has rapidly become a fan favourite within the boxing promotion circuit.
British Model Sought for Final Spot
MVP continues its search for a third ring girl, specifically targeting candidates based in the United Kingdom. The promotion company has opened applications for UK-based models to join the Miami event, offering the chance to be flown out to Florida as part of their standout roster.
The company emphasised the significance of British representation, stating: 'Anthony Joshua is the biggest superstar in all of UK boxing which is why it was only right that we came to the UK for this search. If you've ever dreamed of being part of a global event, this is your moment.'
The decision follows the viral success of Sydney Thomas, who gained international recognition after appearing as a ring girl during Paul's fight against Mike Tyson. Thomas described the sudden fame as 'overwhelming' but has since attended prestigious events including the Grammys.
As the December 19 date approaches, anticipation builds not only for the main event but for the complete spectacle that promises to blend elite boxing with entertainment glamour on a global Netflix stage.
