American boxer Hannah Rapp has died at age 26 after being struck by a car while cycling in Texas. The incident occurred on Saturday, July 18, in Brazos County, where Rapp was reportedly passed by a car that suddenly stopped, then reversed into her, according to the Brazos County sheriff's office. She was rushed to a hospital but pronounced dead. A man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

World Boxing Council (WBC) president Mauricio Sulaiman said: "She was an exceptional boxer, but above all, an invaluable member of our boxing family." Tiara Brown, who defeated Rapp in June for the WBC women's featherweight championship, called Rapp the "best dance partner I have ever faced as a pro." Brown recalled Rapp asking for her autograph before the fight: "It filled my heart because we were getting ready for war, yet she was still asking for my autograph. We fought a great fight. It was my honour to share the ring with her."
