Jordan Flynn's Extreme Sacrifice: UK Boxer Moves to US for McGirt Training
Flynn's US move for McGirt training ahead of grudge match

British super-featherweight Jordan Flynn has declared he would travel to the moon if it meant improving as a fighter, a statement he has backed up with a monumental life decision following the first loss of his career.

From Defeat to a Transatlantic Gamble

The 29-year-old suffered a pivotal setback in March, losing to Cameron Vuong. After weeks of reflection, Flynn knew radical change was needed. In a bold move, he decided to uproot his life, leave the UK, and relocate to the United States to train under the tutelage of Hall of Fame trainer Buddy McGirt.

"From that fight, I learned that I needed to make some changes," Flynn exclusively explained. "I needed to focus more and change my training team. And that is why I teamed up with Buddy McGirt - one of the best trainers in the game."

The American Pay-Off and Tactical Fights

The gamble of moving to Florida paid immediate dividends. Under McGirt's guidance, Flynn returned to the ring in September with a vicious knockout victory over Mihail Burlac. He followed this up with a routine points win against Jorge Luis Huerta in December.

These bouts were a tactical part of the plan, designed to sharpen his skills mere weeks before his next major challenge. Flynn is now set for a grudge match against Aqib Fiaz on January 24, a fight born out of simmering animosity.

Focus, Sacrifice and Sights Set on Revenge

Flynn insists the transatlantic move was a necessary sacrifice. "If you want to be the best at it, you have to make these sacrifices," he stated. "So, going over to the States was not a big sacrifice... You can just focus on boxing and get away from all the distractions."

While fully focused on Fiaz, the defeat to Cameron Vuong still lingers. Flynn is adamant about securing a rematch. "Definitely I want that rematch at some point down the line. 100 per cent and I still believe I beat him," he asserted, confirming his desire to avenge that loss in the future.

The verbal sparring with Fiaz has already begun, promising a heated encounter later this month. For Flynn, the journey to America was just the first step in proving his dedication to reaching the top of the sport.
